Kostelecké inspirování 2025 took place on November 27-28, 2025
The 17th annual conference was attended by 76 participants from 8 institutions, who contributed to a varied and inspiring scientific program. During the conference, participants presented 14 presentations and 17 posters showcasing current research in ecology, zoology, botany, environmental sciences, biodiversity, landscape planning, and other related fields.
This year's program was enriched by three plenary talks by invited speakers:
- Jan Hanel (Liberec Zoo) opened the conference with talk entitled Effective conservation and sustainable management of raptor species both in captivity and in the wild.
- Carlos Hernández-Castellano (Czech University of Life Sciences Prague) opened the afternoon block of presentations with a talk entitled Ecological networks in biodiversity conservation.
- Martina Vítková (Czech University of Life Sciences Prague) opened Friday's program with a talk entitled Waste-derived amendments for soil remediation.
This year, an expert committee consisting of academic employees from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and the organisers was again established to evaluate the presentations and posters, selecting the two best presentations and two posters. The prizes for the winners were provided by the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, Vesmír jaournal, and Academia publishing house. We would also like to thank Živa journal for its support.
The prizes for the best presentations went to:
1st prize Adam Uličný for his presentation "RegRed Project: An Effort to Collate Regional Redlists at a Global Scale. Aims, Progress and Outcomes"
2nd prize Shivali Shivali for the presentation "Evolution of microbe-termite-termitophile tripartite symbiotic system"
The prizes for the best posters went to:
1st prize Benneth Nass for the poster "Diversification of allotetraploid species with identical genomic composition"
2nd prize Pia Rabischong for the poster "Population level variation in Calliphora vicina development"
In addition, one best presentation and one poster were awarded based on a vote by all conference participants. This award went to Mariya Musya for her presentation "Distribution of microplastics in coastal waters in Guam" and Pavlína Hořínková for her poster "Mosses that don't cry wolf predation on model prey after simulated herbivory." Congratulations to all the winners.
We look forward to seeing you again at the next year's conference, which will take place in the fall of 2026. In the Archive section of this website, you will find a book of abstracts and photos from this year's conference. We would greatly appreciate it if you could fill out an anonymous questionnaire and provide us with your feedback.
